2 years of hospital clerical, general clerical or Certificate of Achievement in clerical or busines related course.
CHAA (certified health care admissions assoc preferred SKILLS:
Strong interpersonal communication, documentation, customer service and collection skills DUTIES:
Obtains correct financial and demographic patient information - Places armband on patient - Selects correct insurance plan - Selects correct M/V(medical record/visit) number - Verifies correctness of appointments Presents and explains legal, ethical, and compliant related documents to the patient and/or patient representative.
Collects insurance co:
payments, self:
pay deposits and patient balances Complies with departmental polices and procedures.
Meets department registration standards.
Participates in process improvements.
Cross:
trains in other areas and functions.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
