Purchasing Agent - Manufacturing

Responsibilities:
Responsible for the timely purchase of materials, commodities, supplies, equipment, and services of appropriate quality and correct quantity from qualified suppliers.
Negotiate prices and delivery as necessary to achieve the lowest cost to the company Execute Purchase Orders in a timely manner based on either Purchasing Managers signal/forecast or non-inventory requirements.
Manage raw material and expendable tooling inventory levels Maintain inventory accuracy within the system database Quote/review pricing to get the best options and issue requisitions & PO's.
Able to analyze data and use it to make decisions in regards to purchasing or procuring raw materials from our suppliers.
Strong Excel skills.
Strong MRP System skills.
Good written and verbal communications skills.
Able to multitask with an eye for detail Must be detail oriented.
Must have Office software knowledge Must possess the ability to listen, communicate (written and verbal), excellent grammar, and follow-up effectively.
Keep work area clean.
Qualifications and
Experience:
Degree or 4 to 7 yrs.
experience in materials management and procurement within a manufacturing environment Must have the ability to perform at a high level in a fast paced environment.
Must have intermediate Microsoft Excel and Outlook knowledge.
AS400 experience a plus.
Must be detail oriented.
Must possess the ability to listen, communicate (written and verbal), excellent grammar, and follow-up effectively.
Exhibit a caring, professional and enthusiastic demeanor when speaking with internal and external customers.
Possess advanced phone etiquette, problem resolution and customer service skills.
