RESTAURANT ACCOUNTANT
Whom should apply:
A candidate with firsthand knowledge of restaurant accounting and day to day expenses related to overall cost of restaurant operations. Aspects of the job are a staff accountant level and other aspects are very advanced. Responsible for working directly with restaurant GM to ensure weekly and period financial statements are accurate and timely. Responsibilities include accounting for inventory, COGS, prepaid assets, reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts, cash flow, A/P and budgeting vs. actual analysis. The person in this role will be responsible for the full Income Statement, Balance Sheet and Budgets for 5
restaurants. Previous restaurant management is preferred; especially using Restaurant 365 Software.
Duties and responsibilities
Full general ledger for 5
restaurants
Auditing and verifying invoices and documents
Preparation of month end financial statements
Cash flow analysis
Inventory accuracy
Budget vs. actual analysis
Balance Sheet reconciliations
Month end accruals and journal entries
Ad Hoc analysis as requested by store managers and Comptroller
Ensuring internal controls and policies and procedures are followed
Qualifications:
Self-motivation with drive to make things more efficient
Must be confident and able to communicate with all levels of management
Accounting degree preferred but will look at experience in lieu of degree - 3 years' experience minimum
Restaurant experience a plus - on either accounting or in operations (server in college counts)
Must have mid to advanced excel skills
Advanced Quick Books skills or other accounting program where you have full working knowledge of all modules of the program.
Previous system implementation participation a plus
Understanding of COGS and inventory calculations
Working conditions
Office is South Downtown Dallas (Farmers Market). Must be able to work in an office environment. Normal hours are 8-5; expect longer hours during month-end and year-end close.
Physical requirements
Must be able to sit for extended periods of time; operate a computer, keyboard, mouse, and 10-key. May need to bend, stoop, & lift 25 pounds to shoulder level.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
