GENERAL FUNCTION The Sr Accounting Manager is responsible for the timely and accurate reporting of Luxottica inventory, related reserves, capitalizations, and certain prepaid assets in compliance with Company policies. Strategically partners with key process owners to deliver high-value, cost effective services and solutions to customers. Trains and develops associates for broader responsibilities within the Organization. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Leads monthly closing activities including approval and preparation of monthly journal entries. Owns overall responsibility for quality control of General Ledger and agreement to subsidiary support (approval of balance sheet reconciliations). Establishes, evaluates, and records obsolescence and acquisition reserves. Monitors accounting for purchase discounts and allowances to ensure proper recognition in accordance with GAAP. Ensures adequate controls are in place and functioning as required by the Sarbanes-Oxley Act including documentation maintenance, spreadsheet controls, etc. Provides key inventory-related inputs to the cost of merchandise and inventory forecasts. Prepares monthly variance analysis. Supports the successful transition from legacy systems to SAP. Implements control processes and procedures for inventory transaction flows. Reviews and standardizes processes, improving efficiencies while maintaining an acceptable level of internal control. Teams with accounts payable, central purchasing, inventory services, Lux reporting, inventory buyers, and AP accounting to address cross-functional issues; partners with brands to account for and otherwise support changing business requirements. Effectively communicates with management (i.e. accounting controls, initiatives, and issues). Effectively manages work of team by setting clear expectations, delegating tasks, and following up to ensure completion. Assumes additional responsibilities and assists with special projects as assigned. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's Degree in Accounting 8
years of comparable experience Supervisory experience Intermediate to Advanced MS Excel skills Ability to manage concurrent responsibilities Ability to work independently on complex projects Strong verbal and written communication skills Solid organizational and multi-tasking skills Demonstrates willingness and ability to be a self-starter, takes the initiative to solve problems/pursue business opportunities Demonstrates the ability and desire to initiate and successfully accomplish goals Makes sound business decisions Constructively challenges the process and takes the initiative to search for opportunities to grow, improve and innovate Effectively manages time and effort to achieve necessary tasks PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS CPA and/or MBA
Salary Range:
$100K -- $150K
Minimum Qualification
AccountingEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
