The Accounting Director supervises and directs accounting functions for retail or wholesale operations to ensure adequate accounting and systems controls exist so that financial results are accurately reported and company assets are adequately safeguarded. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Leads accounting team in the performance of their duties including monthly close, consolidation & Group reporting. Ensures consolidation and reporting packages are complete and accurate. Reviews monthly results with business leadership. Identifies and communicates risks to forecast to Finance team. Manages and delivers timely corporate requests for supplemental data on business activities. Assesses the impact of new accounting standards and non-routine transactions under both GAAP & IFRS. Prepares annual budget and forecast updates for designated cost centers. Manages external audit to ensure timely completion and resolution of any identified issues. Ensures a strong internal control environment is maintained. Develops relationships with local and global business partners. Leads associates in defining business and development objectives and identifying priorities. Leads special project work such as strategic business initiatives, systems development, and restructurings. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's Degree in Accounting 10
years of relevant experience Strong Accounting background Strong critical thinking skills Highly analytical Self-disciplined/self-motivated In-depth understanding of internal controls and segregation of duties Ability to identify higher risk areas and ensure that those risks are properly controlled Intermediate MS Excel and Word skills Ability to effectively work within multiple SAP systems Proficient in Hyperion products Excellent verbal and written communication skills Solid organizational and multi-tasking skills Effectively lead and develop associates Demonstrate willingness and ability to be a self-starter, taking the initiative to solve problems Demonstrate the ability and desire to initiate and successfully accomplish personal and business goals Ability to analyze problems, to compile data, to determine facts and reach a logical conclusion Ability to prioritize and multi task Constructively challenge the process and take the initiative to search for opportunities to grow, improve and innovate Effective time management, organizational and communication skills (both written and oral ) Ability to interact professionally with coworkers, management and customers Ability to build strong business relationships in a team environment PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Public accounting experience MBA or CPA
Salary Range:
$200K -- $250K
Minimum Qualification
AccountingEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
