Dallas Position Summary As a Senior level Product Engineer, the successful candidate will interface with other team members representing a wide range of engineering disciplines, including:
Test, Mechanical, Software, Optical, Quality, Reliability and System. With product responsibility, the successful candidate will lead the coordination of specifications between these groups, support customer product integrations, troubleshoot issues, conduct tests, analyze yield trends and product specific data, recommend product / process improvements, drive the completion of product validations and qualifications, and maintain product documentation, all with the goal of developing the best infrared sensor technology in the industry. Basic Qualifications and Required Skills U.S. Citizenship is required Bachelors of Science or higher level degree in Electrical Engineering 5
years experience in Product, Applications or Equivalent Engineering Discipline Desired Skills Skilled data collection, test and troubleshooting ability o Solder certified for surface mount and throughhole componenets o Ability to build and test prototype circuits and test fixtures o Ability to troubleshoot, modify and/or repair circuit card assemblies o Understanding of how to interpret electrical schematics as well as mechanical drawings o Familiarity with schematic capture, PCB layout and/or AutoCad software o Ability to compose test procedures and specifications for internal test equipment o Familiar with environmental testing to include:
vibration, pyro shock, over temperature and EMI o Experienced user of lab test equipment:
O'Scopes, DVMs, Logic Analyzers, Spectrum Analyzers, etc. o Experienced user of MS Office suite, including Word, Excel & Power Point o Experience with VB, C++, C#, Python, Matlab or equivalent programming languages is a plus o Experience with testing or characterizing infrared or equivalent imagaging sensors is a plus Essential Duties and Responsibilities Act as technical applications interface to both internal & external customers using DRS products o Design, develop, analyze, document and support testing of products, test systems or subsystems o Establish and implement product design and manufacturing process changes to reduce cost and improve performance o Review customer specifications and requirements, and develop test designs that best support them o Identify yield limits and recommend changes to increase manufacturing margin o Responsible for technical activity and completion of assigned tasks, both on time and within budget o Communicate clearly (written and oral) with other company personnel and customers, as required o Strong analytical and problem solving skills o Strong understanding of the fundamentals of circuit analysis o Hands-on experience in electronics test lab environment o Ability to work independently or with multiple teams, on multiple assignments o Provide budget, cost and schedule input for product support tasks o Other duties as assigned
Salary Range:
$80K -- $100K
Minimum Qualification
Mechanical Engineering, Electrical EngineeringEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
