Overview Walsh is currently seeking a Director of Health, Safety, and Environment for our The location of this position can be Chicago, Atlanta, or Dallas. The Director of Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) represents the company as an industry expert. This individual will participate in national and regional industry committees, or similar types of meetings/conferences in support of company and business objectives. This position oversees all aspects of health, safety and environmental (HSE) programs for a large segment of the company to ensure compliance with and implementation of health, safety and environmental programs, policies and procedures that adhere to corporate specifications. Challenging, complex work Creative and innovative problem-solving environment Supportive, communicative managers who reward hard work Opportunities for growth, training, and development Flexibility in career path & progression Opportunities to work and live all over the United States Responsibilities Identifies and establishes HSE programs, guidelines and standards that support the company'sbusiness plans and are compliant with all regulations Deploys HSE processes that demonstrate continuous improvement in HSE stewardship Develops annual operating planning and corporate governance processes, including audits, compliance initiatives, government reporting, and identification of best practice initiatives Establishes key metrics for a specific segment of the business that drive the effectiveness of the HSE program across the company Ensures appropriate staffing and HSE education/training efforts for all project teams within area of responsibility Monitors and reports on relevant changes in applicable OHS (Occupational Health & Safety) and environmental regulations/requirements related to Walsh operations Supports relationships with clients and other stakeholders for purposes of HSE systems interface and deployment Qualifications Minimum 15 years of experience, with the majority of the experience on major transportation and heavy civil construction projects Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in Health, Safety, Environmental or related discipline CSP (Certified Safety Professional) through BCSP required Strong interpersonal skills and with experience presenting to ownership and operational entities Experience developing safety programs, creating performance objectives, creating a business plan/budget, and completing personnel recruiting/reviews Travel is required 20-40% of the time to visit business groups, regional offices, and projects Must be physically able to perform the duties of the position within the complex nature of large scale commercial construction If hired by The Walsh Group, you must be in compliance with your employment location's COVID-19 related requirements, if any. Salary Range:
$200K -- $250K
Minimum Qualification
Environmental Health & SafetyEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
