Associate Director - Business Analytics (Salesforce)

The Associate Director, Business Analytics oversees the development of new applications based on professional principles and theories using advanced concepts, techniques, and standards. They are viewed as an expert in their field within the company. The Associate Director, Business Analytics identifies solutions to problems of unusual complexity which require a high degree of ingenuity, creativity, and innovation; challenges are frequently unique, and solutions may serve as precedent for future decisions. The Associate Director, Business Analytics works under consultative direction toward long-range goals and objectives. Their assignments are often self-initiated and self-supervised. The Associate Director, Business Analytics is responsible for decisions that affect the financials, employees, and customers of the company. The Associate Director, Business Analytics leverages a strong knowledge of the company and industry and relationships with multiple internal teams to effectively plan and execute initiatives and projects. Mentors and coaches direct reports/team members, contributes to the development of strategic business plans, and regularly contributes to other team members' projects to ensure the needs of the organization are met. In addition, the Associate Director, Business Analytics serves as a role model for team members, leads by example, quickly adapts to change, embraces new policies and procedures and maintains a minimum of target/excellence with all their performance metrics. The Associate Director, Business Analytics also develops processes and strategies supporting internal/end user Salesforce training initiatives, product support/maintenance activities, and other projects designed to meet or exceed company objectives. Activities of the Associate Director, Business Analytics include:
managing an agile Salesforce team; developing and maintaining a knowledge of the department, company and industry as a whole; driving the definition and design of large and complex scale new or upgraded customer-facing or internal Salesforce products or integrations; driving the development of large and complex scale new or upgraded customer-facing or internal products; facilitating a smooth transition of a quality product/upgrade to a production environment; participating in training initiatives to educate internal teams and end users; driving operational excellence through the service and finance organizations; participating in organizational activities to meet or exceed company objectives; and representing Wolters Kluwer within the industry. Managing the development of Salesforce solutions to large and complex scale new or upgraded customer-facing or internal products which require unique and unprecedented solutions by developing and maintaining relationships with business owners, technical resources and internal teams; owning the interplay between business owners and technical resources; contributing to the continuous evolution of product strategy to grow revenue and improve customer retention; spearheading or working with Product Managers and Service/Operations Managers to create business briefs and business cases; partnering with business owners to analyze and fully understand project goals and objectives and use subject matter expertise suggest additional areas of opportunity; translating approved business cases and strategic objectives into business/system/functional requirements; creating use case documentation and process flows; generating paper prototypes and wireframes; assisting with the creation and testing of prototypes upon request; working with customers to gain feedback on new initiatives; determining the impact of new functionality to existing processes and functionalities; ensuring the final solution efficiently and effectively meets stakeholder needs; and ensuring the final solution is flexible enough to work with future changes. Managing the development of Salesforce solutions to large and complex scale new or upgraded customer-facing or internal products by establishing process and documentation standards (Agile or SDLC); providing on-going/ad-hoc support for all internal teams throughout development; providing business leadership (e.g., acting as an escalation resource for business decisions; liaising with business owners) throughout development; managing project team activities and monitoring project progress; ensuring progress continuously complies with defined timelines, budgets and scopes; identifying and mitigating risks and issues that may delay release or increase costs; escalating or engaging additional resources to resolve issues in a timely manner; keeping project stakeholders informed of project progress and issues; and assuming final accountability for the success of the team's development initiatives. Acts as senior leader and program manager for critical company Salesforce initiatives by establishing and monitoring long term program goals and reporting on progress and status to senior management. This includes being responsible for leading, motivating, and managing a program team; identifying short and long term financial and operational goals; the ideation of new and advanced concepts and approaches to accomplish program goals establishing a roadmap to achieve program goals; establishing a transition plan for the organization upon program completion; creation and execution of the program Change Management plan. Facilitates a smooth transition of a Salesforce quality product/upgrade to a production environment through their advanced knowledge of concepts, techniques, and standards by developing standards for the QA test approach, test cases and test results documents; developing processes and standards for executing user acceptance testing materials/plans for internal customers; defining team processes for the preparation and execution of user acceptance tests and/or beta tests for external customers and production migration shakeouts; collaborating with internal stakeholders and experts to generate optimal implementation solutions and validate implementation approaches; documenting project release notes to accompany the release; facilitating the transition of knowledge to the Business Operations organization; and providing ongoing support and maintenance during the post-deployment phase. Collaborates with the CT Training Department to deliver Salesforce training initiatives to educate internal teams and end users by creating and tailoring training materials to support training needs; collaborating with the department Operations Analysts to coordinate and administer product training to internal staff prior to launch (e.g., Service, Support); supporting Sales training efforts; conducting training sessions for end users via conference call, webinar or in person; ensuring thorough understanding by all participants; Acts as a senior advisor to drive operational excellence by maintaining an expert knowledge of industry standards, methodologies and best practices; establishing an on-going partnership with technical and business resources to identify operational or system issues; coaching team analysts to perform root cause analysis for complex issues; lead programs to identify improvement opportunities; partnering with Service/Operations Managers to develop operational improvement projects/initiatives; designing initiatives, identifying tools/technology and/or re-engineering processes to improve customer service, productivity, quality and efficiency within the business; aligning and coordinating major change initiatives within a common framework; liaising between multiple internal teams to implement business and process improvement initiatives; acting as the 'Voice of the Field' for all process re-engineering and technology initiatives; and supporting internal teams (e.g., Service, Operations, Sales, Finance) to effectively utilize existing tools (e.g., reports, applications) to perform daily activities. Participates in and leads Salesforce organizational activities to meet or exceed company objectives by proactively providing subject matter expertise across applications and initiatives; applying knowledge from background area of expertise to special projects that will help drive profitability and growth; leading thought provoking, strategic discussions with departmental leadership; sharing analytical, quantitative, and conceptual insights to enhance the organization; identifying opportunities to collaborate across divisions and/or leverage partnerships; contributing to the development of strategic business plans to ensure the continued growth of business; analyzing processes and procedures and providing creative recommendations on how to increase efficiency, employee engagement, customer satisfaction, retention, revenue growth and financial results; applying knowledge from background area of expertise to special projects that will help drive profitability and growth; collaborating with peers to develop and advance company-wide initiatives and strategies; participating as a functional member of WK committees; and serving as a key business leader, thought leader, and role model within the organization. Bachelor's Degree in Business, Information Technology or related discipline; OR, if no degree, 9 years of experience in Consulting, Product Development, Business Analysis, or Project Management. Preferred:
