The league office is looking for a candidate with a strong rugby leadership background that is ready to step in and drive MLR to the next level.
Position Summary The Director, Marketing will be working as the marketing lead to drive the league and team brands.
The position is responsible for supporting all functions of the league by creating campaigns, programs, and promotions.
In addition, the position will elevate awareness and the league profile projecting Major League Rugby to the next level.
The ideal candidate lives and breathes marketing and branding for the MLR in all mediums.
An endlessly creative storyteller who excels at building creative visual content and works as a self-starter to exceed expectations.
Duties and Responsibilities Lead the process of developing and executing innovative marketing strategies to build MLR's brand, including annual campaign creation and implementation, team-focused project execution, and working through all league assets to grow market reach.
Lead regular marketing & PR sessions with the teams of the MLR.
Providing them with league directives, analysis, insight, and feedback.
Create and manage brand guides, media guides, team marketing and PR guide, and campaign roadmaps.
Build and maintain relationships with a robust set of creatives, leveraging in-house talent as well as freelancers and agencies, to ensure access to talented storytellers.
Lead and support integrated marketing activations that come by way of Corporate Partners who are supporting MLR's mission financially.
Oversee Marketing Services that provide a wide variety of creative and marketing support across all MLR teams, including key collateral, toolkit, templates, brand videos, and photo library.
Oversee, develop, and monitor league digital media, including website development, app development and integrations, and social platforms.
Develop a dashboard and provide regular, metrics-driven audience engagement insights to inform the board and drive strategies.
Manage marketing and support staff to ensure engagement, accountability, and business outcomes are delivered.
Supports the development of team members and demonstrates a positive and passionate attitude.
Supports collaboration at all levels, throughout the department, across departments, and across the league.
Manage departmental budget and oversee vendor contracts.
Special projects or other duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Skills, and Education Requirements 6
years of experience and a bachelor's degree in a related field Proven marketing team lead Portfolio of proven marketing experience Proven campaign experience Graphic and design experience Ability to work efficiently without compromising the quality of work or accuracy Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
