Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented accounting specialist with a strong background in the oil and gas industry.
As an accounting specialist, you will be responsible for handling various accounting functions and ensuring accurate financial reporting for our private clients.
Your expertise in revenue, accounts payable, general ledger entries, and bank reconciliations will be essential in supporting our clients' financial operations.
Key
Responsibilities:
Manage accounting tasks for private clients, including revenue, accounts payable, deposits, and general ledger entries.
Process joint interest billings and revenue distributions.
Perform bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.
Review and prepare financial statements for various companies and indivduals on a quarterly and annual basis.
Record journal entries, accruals, and other adjusting entries to maintain accurate financial records.
Coordinate with internal tax, joint interest billing, and revenue departments to ensure compliance and accuracy.
Maintain fixed asset and oil and gas property records.
Analyze and reconcile general ledger accounts to identify discrepancies or errors.
Provide support for external audits and work closely with auditors to address any issues or concerns.
Stay updated on industry regulations and best practices related to accounting in the oil and gas sector.
Perform additional duties as assigned to support the financial operations of our clients.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (or related field).
Extensive experience in accounting roles within the oil and gas industry.
Knowledge of Wolfepack Solid knowledge of revenue recognition, joint interest billing, and other industry-specific accounting practices.
Proficiency in accounting software and tools, such as Wolfepak and EnergyLink.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
Strong communication skills to collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders.
Prior experience in supervising or mentoring accounting staff (desired but not mandatory).
