Calvert & Associates, staff counsel for State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Company, is seeking a Minor Prove-Up (MPU) Paralegal to join their growing team in Dallas, TX.
Candidates must be detail-oriented, adaptable, and able to prioritize workload, and have the ability to multi-task in a fast pace electronic environment.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, new suit intake; drafting friendly suit petitions and motions for various counties; gathering and organizing documents to send to the Guardian Ad Litem; lien checks; drafting proposed judgments and Settlement Agreements, and familiarity working with structured settlements.
Qualifications 3
years' experience in litigation or as a paralegal, preferably in an insurance defense firm Working experience performing lien checks and drafting friendly suit petitions, judgments, and releases involving annuities Effective communicator and committed team player that possesses a strong work ethic.
Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail are required in this fast-paced work environment.
Working knowledge/experience utilizing the Texas Rules of Civil Procedures.
Working experience in answering discovery, medical summaries/chronologies.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
