This position retrieves materials from vendors throughout the metroplex area.
The work environment is fast paced and requires a familiarity with the area; the ability to retrieve items in a minimum amount of time to meet the needs of City crews and to keep their downtown to a minimum.
Duties Procure items for use by user City departments as required.
Warehouse and inventory all items received for user City departments.
Receives and issues parts into and out of the warehouse area to the various user departments.
Verifies all receipt quantities to assure correct delivery.
Perform perpetual inventory procedures to ensure integrity of the database.
Perform housekeeping duties to ensure a clean work environment.
Deliver parts to locations throughout the City.
Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid Texas driver's license with clean driving record.
Prefer prior driving experience within the area and experience with mechanical parts environment.
Ability to use maps to navigate the metroplex to locate vendor's places of business.
Complete understanding of major thoroughfares to allow use of those maps.
Ability to check off parts received to verify counts.
Mechanical ability to compare old parts with new to determine suitability of purpose.
