The Integrated Strategic Solutions Engineering (ISSE) team is looking for an exceptionally motivated Principal Systems Engineer that is passionate about systems engineering with the ability to drive an innovative network solution in a highly technical environmentAs a Principal Systems Engineer, you will develop and validate system models and designs for Nuclear Command, Control, and Communications (NC3) mission systems solutions used on our military customers' aircraft and ground stationsThis opportunity includes supporting one or both of the following platforms:
E-4 and E-6Primary responsibility will be to focus on customer needs and requirements to design, develop, document, integrate, and test both hardware and software systems, ranging from black box to the complex end-to-end platform systemsThis position will also be responsible for providing technical guidance to multidisciplined teams, leading effective meetings, cultivating and reinforcing group values, and identifying, analyzing and correcting technical problemsProjects span the entire development lifecycle, including pursuit and order capture, trade study, system design, requirements definition, requirements allocation, requirement traceability, use case development for software/hardware, systems integration, verification testing and qualificationThe candidate will work closely with fellow systems engineers, Technical Project Engineers (PEs), Product Line / Program Management, software, hardware, electrical and support staff to assure defined requirements are consistently met in all phases of the product lifecycleThis position will support defining the future of armed forces NC3 defense systemsThis position is located onsite in Richardson, TXPrimary
Responsibilities:
Serve as a network technology and systems engineering focal point for leadership and the customer for ISSE mission equipment packages/solutions Lead system development teams to understand, analyze, and develop the models, requirements, and designs using enterprise standard tools, processes, and industry best practicesContribute to technical proposal preparation and serve as a subject matter expert in non-advocate, internal and customer reviews Apply SysML concepts for System Modeling across a full engineering lifecycleLead system integration and troubleshooting for complex embedded software applications, hardware, LRU's, and system of systems environmentsEnsure the development and management of technical risks and develop and execute mitigation plans Lead and advise engineering managers, program managers, business development managers, product line managers, and component architects Establish trusted and influential relationships with customers and suppliers Monitor cost and schedule and report project status to program management and engineering leadershipBasic
Qualifications:
Network design experience with TCP/IP, SNMP, VPNs, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, QoS and other commonly used networking services and routing protocols used on WANs/LANsExperience with designing, developing and deploying resilient network solutions for military applications/platforms or similar applicationsExperience with end-to-end systems architecture governance and design principlesActive and transferable U.Sgovernment issued security clearance is required prior to start dateU.Scitizenship is required, as only U.Scitizens are eligible for a security clearanceTypically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experiencePreferred

Experience systems engineering and open systems architectureAptitude for modern virtualization techniques and capabilitiesExperience with NC3 system architecture development, and systems, software, and hardware engineeringOperations concept developmentSystem and product designModel & Requirements managementTechnical risk management, interface definition and controlExperience with aircraft level system integrationDevelopment of integration and test plans, test cases and proceduresExecuting product and system level tests to include experience with automation test tools or scriptingExperience with Model Based Systems Engineering concepts and tools such as Magic Draw CAMEO, Rhapsody, Enterprise ArchitectExperience in technical proposal writing - Make/Buy Decision-making and trade study experienceAbility to travel domestically (up to 20% of time).
