As an intern, you'll be exposed to the various aspects of safety, working alongside some of the best engineers and techs in the region! Make no mistake, this isn't a fetch coffee and make copies internship; we're looking for hard-working, dedicated, anxious-to-learn individual.
If that sounds like you - read on! This is a PART-TIME role for the summer.
The Safety Coordinator intern will help to monitor workplace activities to promote and ensure employee compliance with applicable safety regulations.
The intern will assist with and/or have exposure to:
Identifying opportunities to minimize workplace injuries, accidents, and health problems.
Conducting employee training on applicable safety standards.
Reviewing safety training and recommends revisions, improvements, and updates.
Conducting safety inspections and audits to assess employee compliance with safety regulations.
Inspecting safety equipment; recommends replacements.
Drafting and implementing internal safety standards and policies.
Reviewing accidents and incidents reported by employees and visitors to the facility.
Performing incident investigation to determine root cause and generate corrective actions.
Summer interns will also have the opportunity to meet with company executives, complete a capstone project, and participate in other professional development opportunities.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Interns must be currently enrolled in a degree-seeking program, ideally focused on occupational health and safety or related.
Interns must live near or be able to move to the internship location on their own.
We DO NOT cover relocation expenses for interns.
