We are seeking a seasoned Permanent Attorney to join our dynamic team. In this exciting role, you will have the opportunity to represent clients in court, before government agencies, and in private legal matters. You will be responsible for communicating with clients, colleagues, judges, and others involved in the case, conducting legal research, and interpreting laws, rulings, and regulations for clients. This is a fantastic opportunity for an attorney with experience in personal injury law, litigation, trial, legal research, legal writing, civil litigation, commercial litigation, medical malpractice, and professional malpractice litigation.
Responsibilities:
1. Represent clients in court or before government agencies.
2. Present evidence to defend clients or prosecute defendants in criminal or civil litigation.
3. Select jurors, argue motions, meet with judges, and question witnesses during the course of a trial.
4. Study and interpret laws, rulings, and regulations for individuals and businesses.
5. Present and summarize cases to judges and juries.
6. Prepare legal briefs and opinions, and file appeals in state and federal courts of appeal.
7. Analyze the probable outcomes of cases, using knowledge of legal precedents.
8. Examine legal data to determine advisability of defending or prosecuting lawsuit.
9. Evaluate findings and develop strategies and arguments in preparation for presentation of cases.
10. Advise clients concerning business transactions, claim liability, advisability of prosecuting or defending lawsuits, or legal rights and obligations.
11. Gather evidence to formulate defense or to initiate legal actions, by such means as interviewing clients and witnesses to ascertain the facts of a case.
Qualifications:
1. Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
2. Admission to the state bar.
3. 2
years of experience in a law firm or legal setting, with a focus on personal injury law, litigation, trial, legal research, legal writing, civil litigation, commercial litigation, medical malpractice, and professional malpractice litigation.
4. Strong analytical skills and the ability to think critically.
5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
6. Ability to maintain confidentiality and high ethical standards.
7. Exceptional negotiation skills.
8. Proficiency in legal research software and Microsoft Office Suite.
9. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
10. Detail-oriented with a strong ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
