We have a passionate and diverse in-house web design team consisting of more than 20 individuals. The team is responsible for the design of ti.com worldwide, as well as all TI promotional emails and online advertising.
We are seeking a seasoned professional to manage the web design team to provide a best-in-class customer experience and make ti.com the preferred online destination of engineers worldwide. The management position requires someone with proven success delivering visually stunning, break-through designs that are easy to navigate and are functional by utilizing their own expert design skills and those of their team.
This individual will act as our web design consultant envisioning and presenting new ideas while reporting to upper-level management. Qualified candidates exhibit strength and leadership showing versatility, ability to gain consensus, and building trusting relationships with project participants and stakeholders across a large organization.
Responsibilities:
o Manage the activities of visual website designers based in Dallas, Texas and Toronto, Canada.
o Hire and supervise on-site and off-site designers.
o Consult with TI management and product groups on web design and online trends.
o Contribute to the long-term vision of ti.com.
o Provide art direction of visual design solutions that address our business, brand, market, and end-user requirements.
o Conceive, set, and implement user interface guidelines and standards, ensuring that these guidelines are followed during the development and maintenance of the site.
o Create all elements of a web page including screen layouts, user interface elements, and navigation.
o Concept development, idea creation and experiments.
o Manage workflow and deadlines on multiple, simultaneous projects.
o Conduct meetings by phone and in person.
o Contribute to a culture of innovation, teamwork, and fun.
Qualifications:
o 7
years visual design experience in internet-related projects.
o Bachelor's or master's level degree in interaction design, architecture, graphic design or related field.
o Solid portfolio with a range of creative samples that demonstrate relevant work or projects is required.
o Expert in screen layout and visual design.
o Proficiency with graphics software programs (e.g. PhotoShop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, etc.).
o Good knowledge of HTML/CSS coding practices.
o Excellent understanding of user experience design for the web, including user interface design principles, industry standards and trends, and platform standards.
o Process-oriented with ability to work with different UI materials.
o Experience managing multiple people on multiple projects.
o Certification or training in people management, including project management or related courses.
o Excellent interpersonal skills and presentation skills, including the ability to communicate effectively in small and large groups, at all levels of the organization.
o Innovative, creative problem solver with an eye for detail and accuracy.
o Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, multi-task, and meet deadlines.
o Must have an ability to work in both a team setting and individually.
