Position overview
The Solutions Architect is responsible for translating customer's business requirements into specific systems, applications or process design with an integrated architecture. This position will lead/participate in architecture definition and design of comprehensive integrated IT solutions.
Primary Responsibilities include:
- Drive implementation of design/development and testing/readiness/deployment activities with IT team.
- Manage priorities and tasks to meet project milestones.
Secondary Responsibilities include:
- Partner with ITS organizations in technical architecture design discussions.
- Align solutions with ITS standards and best practices.
- Work cross functionally with other IT teams.
- Perform other job-related tasks as required by the supervisor.
This role requires someone who can:
- Develop knowledge of customers' needs and utilize that knowledge to partner with our customers in order to provide improved alternatives which may better meet their needs than their original request.
- Manage IT and cross-functional customer requirements to build enterprise solutions where only specific customer-developed solutions existed previously or not at all.
Projects and Deliverables include:
- Perform risk analysis & create mitigation strategies with continuous evaluation and validation or system design and architecture.
- Develop detailed functional specifications and generate strategies for hardware/software system design & architecture in collaboration with customers and IT colleagues.
- Take part in the design/development/implementation of real-time operations management software for Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) and integration with Facilities Management Systems at TI.
Job requirements
Qualified candidates will have a Master's degree with a minimum of 10 years' experience in and IT role. Required Basic Qualifications include:
- Demonstrated proficiency in NIX and experienced in Windows platforms.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Web Application development framework including Java programming and database design using Oracle, SQL, and PL/SQL.
- Familiarity with networking technologies and socket/general networking programming
- Knowledge of Telephony/Telecommunications.
- Demonstrated strong problem solving and analytical skills.
Additional Preferred
Qualifications:
- Experience in industrial process control system automation, software development and engineering expertise for diverse PLC-based automation systems will be an asset.
- Experience with SCADA (Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition) programming & system analysis, and design is a plus.
- Experience with data warehouse and data mart design, data movement, extraction and integration techniques.
- Experience in decision support and/or business intelligence solutions/projects is preferred.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
