The Firm is searching for an individual to assist in front-line quality assurance of new business intake requests and with our conflicts request workflow. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background with excellent computer skills including solid knowledge of Microsoft Office products, as well as project management skills. You should possess the ability to quickly learn, work within, and maintain the multiple systems and databases utilized by the conflicts department.

Basic Function: This position is responsible for assisting the Conflicts Manager with coordinating the review of potential conflicts of interest as it relates to the Firm, working closely with various committees, Firm attorneys, and others to facilitate resolution of conflicts of interest and business sensitivity issues related to all potential new business and various special interest initiatives as it relates to new hires.
Essential Duties:
Reviews each new business intake and conflicts request for data entry errors;
Route conflicts requests from all firm offices to Conflicts Analysts in a timely fashion;
Prepare Daily Conflicts Reports document to be e-mailed to all attorneys and secretaries by 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. daily, and IP Subject Matter Report to all intellectual property attorneys and professionals and intellectual property litigation partners on Monday mornings by 10 a.m.;
Answer telephones and emails directed to the conflicts staff;
Check mail twice a day for conflicts of interest and client/matter requests;
Review paperwork thoroughly for required information and contact secretary or attorney if necessary;
Back up Intake Support staff as necessary.
Reporting Relationship: The Conflicts Coordinator will report to the Conflicts Manager.
Qualifications
Experience: This individual should have a minimum of one year prior experience in an office environment. As an entry level position one year of experience in conflicts is preferred. Prior experience using online research tools such as Lexis, Westlaw, Dun & Bradstreet, Hoovers, the Internet, and various other business/financial resources including Excel is preferred.
Skills
The Conflicts Coordinator must be proficient with Microsoft Office Applications. The Conflicts Coordinator must have the personality and ability to interact with numerous Haynes and Boone employees. The Conflicts Coordinator must be detailed-oriented. The individual must possess strong client focus, as well as strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work both individually and as a member of a team. The ability to work with many different types of personalities at all levels of organization is a must. This individual must have the ability to answer questions while maintaining confidentiality. A sense of urgency is of an utmost importance. Ability to analyze, interpret, and explain complex reports and can convey information with others about conflicts issues is a must.
Education: A bachelor's degree is required. A J.D. is preferred.
Physical Demands: Must be able to move around the office up to 15% of the time to make copies, fax, file, etc.; Remains stationary at least 75% of the time; This position constantly operates, computers and other office productivity machines (e.g., fax machine, copier, printer, etc.); Occasionally required to move documents or files weighing up to 15 lbs.; This position requires constant communication and exchange of information with the Firm attorneys, clients and staff; This position must be able to inspect and observe information on a computer screen at least 80% of the time.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
