Legal Assistant - Loans & Lending

Legal assistant who is experienced in commercial lending, including the review of credit approval and loan commitment letters, understanding of various loan requirements, preparation of loan documentation, understanding of title insurance and surveys and how to prepare closing instructions to a title company, and understand the perfection of collateral interests in real estate and personal property including filing security instruments and Uniform Commercial Code financing statements. Familiarity with SBA-specific financing is preferred, but not required.
Duties include but are not limited to:
interfacing directly with client lending officers and loan closers, title companies, insurance company representatives, and other third party service providers who facilitate loan closings and disbursements.
Strong professional work ethic is essential. The successful candidate will be a team player with a positive attitude who has the ability to take direction from and work in tandem with many individuals at all levels. Excellent organizational, written, computer and verbal skills. Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, WordPerfect, Outlook and advanced experience with drafting loan documents is required. Successful candidates must be responsible, well-organized, detail oriented, and self-motivated, and have excellent written and oral communication skills.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
