Financial Analyst II

We currently have a Financial Analyst II career opportunity at our Dallas, TX location.


POSITION PURPOSE:
The Financial Analyst will interface with the Finance, HR, Legal, Facilities, Brand Selling and Customer Development Departments to provide budget and accounting support, assist in gathering data for reporting financial results, and analyzing data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.


POSITION DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:


Month end close - perform the following during the monthly close process:
Preparation of journal entries
Preparation of departmental P&L's / cost center reports


Monthly reporting - perform the preparation of reports for use by the cost center managers in monitoring and controlling expenses. This support includes preparing monthly journal entries, reconciliation of key balance sheet accounts, researching key variances, and provide fluctuation explanations - both for financial reporting needs as well as departmental management support.
Monthly Financial Reviews - Participate in business discussion, adding insight and details as required. Bring light to areas impacting financial results, or other areas in need of attention and offer possible solution(s) or action item(s) to address.


Budget and Forecasting - assist in developing the annual budget and forecasting processes:
Gather historical financial data and provide input based on trends and enterprise initiatives
Lead departmental managers though their budgeting steps, meeting budgeting calendar deadlines.
Support department managers in order to determine strategies and departmental costs for the balance of the current year and for the upcoming year.


Ad-hoc Support:
Provide reporting on an as needed basis using various reporting tools, including Oracle, Hyperion, and OBIEE applications.
Support capitalization setup and tracking as needed.
Form a supportive working relationship with department managers, serving as the go-to resouce for all financial related needs.


Special Projects - consistent with all positions in this classification, additional projects, tasks and/or duties beyond what is outlined here may be assigned as required.


Qualifications:
Bachelor Degree with a major in accounting or finance preferred
Strong knowledge of accounting rules (CPA benefitial)
Minimum of two years of experience in general ledger, financial analysis or public practice.
Proficient with Excel / Effec tive in Word and Powerpoint
Financial Systems skills a plus - Oracle, Hyperion, OBIEE
Desire to learn and take on various types of responsibilities
A self-motivator, eager to learn and grow
Must have an analytical personality and a desire to dig for more information
A team player, must be able to work with people within and outside of the finance department
A fast learner, able to learn the lab business in a short time
Excellent communication skills - verbal, written and presentation
Must be able to multi-task
Willing to work overtime when necessary


Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
