General Ledger Accountant

SUMMARY
The general ledger accountant position is responsible for creating journal entries and assembling supporting documentation, as well as for tracking the contents of accounts, creating portions of the financial statements, and writing related disclosures.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Create and post journal entries for monthly processing (import, manual, reversing, recurring)
Monthly account variance analysis and reconciliations
Monthly Close process
Ensure accuracy of financial statements are in accordance with GAAP and internal policies
Prepare auditable support for all journal entries
Assist in the quarterly and year-end audits
Assist in the production of financial statements
Assist in writing footnotes to operational management reporting
Respond to operational questions regarding the overall performance of branch activity
Assist in filing sales/use, property and state taxes and licenses
Interface with management in various corporate and operational positions
Requirements
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
3
years of general ledger experience
Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred
Strong technical accounting background, with emphasis on following GAAP
Above average Excel and database skills
Experience using NetSuite preferred, but not required
Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with above-average attention to detail
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including ability to interact effectively with all levels throughout the organization
Self-motivated team player with the ability to work independently
