OVERVIEW The Loss Prevention Organized Retail Crime Specialist is responsible for applying expertise to assist the ORC Supervisor or Manager in executing a strategy to combat organized retail crime and external theft across all Gap Inc. brands within an assigned market up to 100 stores. The ORC Specialist takes a proactive approach to resolving external losses within all assigned stores through training and awareness. They are responsible for assisting with external investigations, awareness training, and other specific projects within the assigned market, and working closely with all levels of management and associates to identify potential sources of external theft. The ORC Specialist will create and maintain partnerships with all business partners, internal and external, including but not limited to local-State-Federal Law Enforcement, district attorneys, and peer retailers. Responsible for leading high level field investigations and mall operations involving both internal and external business partners. Through partnerships with internal LP business partners, the ORC Specialist will assist in ensuring that all aspects of Loss Prevention are in compliance with company and legal standards. COMPETENCIES Drives Results Strategic Orientation Collaboration and Influencing Truth & Honesty ORGANIZATIONAL LEADERSHIP Communicate ORC activity to field LP mgmt. and store mgmt. Interface with Field /Corporate business partners (i.e. Human Resources, Legal, Operations and Employee Relations). Communicate with local law enforcement and other external business partners as needed. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Shortage Reduction / Investigations 60% Utilize loss prevention reporting tools to identify & investigate external cases at the direction of ORC Supervisor and ORC Manager. Support fence investigations Support major case development and resolution Conduct static and mobile surveillance Proactively investigate and apprehend habitual offenders who pose a safety risk to Gap Inc's employees. Responsible for working with store management and field LP to identify ORC and external theft opportunities, recommend resolutions, and create action plans to eliminate those opportunities within a market using reporting tools. I.E. LPRM reports, ORC & Safety reporting, BOLOs from market ORC associations. Participate and act as team lead in market blitzes as needed. Initiate and conduct investigations for individuals associated with ORC groups and activities. Proactively monitor controls to identify potential causes of ORC activity in specific stores. Assist FORC Manager and ORC Supervisor in maintenance of a consistent habitual offender case-load. Utilize market resources (LP and store mgmt.) to build ORC cases. Present case files to law enforcement, district attorneys with the assistance of FORC Manager and ORC Supervisor. Support Global Supply Chain and Corporate Investigations Represent Gap Inc in market ORC associations 2. Training and Development 30% Assist ORC Manager or other supervising party in the recruiting and training of Loss Prevention personnel. Responsible for developing and administering market specific ORC training to all stores within assigned area under the direction of ORC Manager and ORC Supervisor. Provide technical ORC training to Law Enforcement Support ORC Focus Store strategy Create and maintain partnerships with key external business partners including local law enforcement, mall security, district attorneys, and peer retailers. Act as court room expert witness in market as needed Monitor cross brand case communication and supports FORCM in ensuring adherence to company policies. Train store leaders and brand LP on proper use of CCTV systems 3. Operations/ Safety 10% Partner with ORC Manager to develop strategic ORC priorities for each brand. Communicate and ensure all safety related policies are adhered to. Assist field LP management in the creation of the ORC section of the shortage action plans within a market. Work closely with management to communicate and train operational standards. Offer recommendations and solutions in crisis situations such as workplace violence, protest and demonstrations, abusive/ threatening customers. Support BCP team in times of crisis
KEY EXPERIENCES
1. Knowledge, skills & abilities:
Excellent communication, written and verbal.
Excellent delegation and follow-up skills.
Loss Prevention external investigation experience required.
Excellent time management and prioritization skills.
Basic knowledge of computer application; ex; Excel, Word, and Power point.
2. Minimum educational level:
High School diploma or equivalent, college degree preferred.
3. Minimum
Experience:
3 years of retail Loss Prevention or investigative experience preferred.
4. Physical Requirements:
Ability to travel to stores within assigned area, and maneuver around sales floors, stock room and offices.
Ability to maneuver in diverse remote environments. I.E. malls, flea markets, court houses, static surveillances
Must be able to work for periods of time at a desk or in a vehicle.
Must be able to travel to remote markets to assist in ORC related activities
Ability to work nights and weekends appropriate to retail business needs.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
