IT Quality Assurance (QA) Internship

We currently have a IT Quality Assurance Internship opportunity at our Dallas, TX location.
Summary: The IT QA graduate trainee is responsible for assisting the QA Director and Leads with successful and high quality delivery of the IT project or program.
Duties and
Responsibilities:
Review and analyze business requirements, use cases and user stories
Identify and write test scenarios
Understand and implement the testing approach, strategy and plan defined by the lead
Write and execute detailed and through manual test cases
Create and maintain traceability matrix and track test coverage
Log results; and report, track and retest defects
Collaborate with product owner, BA, Developers as needed throughout testing lifecycle
Represent QA team in project status / planning / sprint planning / standup meetings to discuss testing, ask questions, seek issue resolutions and provide QA status
Automate test cases using already implemented automation framework
Continue self study, reading, proof of concept exercises to have knowledge of new tools and industry leading practices
Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Must be available 12 - 20 hours each week for a 12 week engagement.
All of the work to be performed in the office.
Be a full-time undergraduate/graduate student in good academic standing.
Pursuing a degree in MIS, information technology, computer science or another technical or related field.
Must maintain good (digital) citizenship.
Must have strong communication skills.
Must uphold, enforce, and abide by all company policies.
Strong writing skills.
Attention to detail. Excellent communication and presentation skills. Inquisitive and curious nature. Team player. Can-do attitude. Self driven. Must take initiative. Adopt learn-teach-learn approach.
Preference given to students with working knowledge of a programming and scripting language (C#, Java, Javascript, VBScript, Python), Microsoft Word, Visio, Excel, and web design (HTML or similar).
Knowledge of basic QA concepts is a plus.
