Financial Management Analyst, CG-501-09, Full Performance Level CG-12

Assists with the reconciliation and coordination of financial and accounting matters related to asset disposition and sales for financial accounting, cash management, assets and liabilities, and general ledger operations. Conducts analysis and daily reconciliations of general ledger accounts using accepted accounting practices, methods and guidelines to support the closing process. Researches, reviews and inputs required financial information from source documents into assigned financial systems within specified time frames, reconciling any differences; and appraises and confirms data integrity and consistency for the conversion and processing of all assigned assets and liabilities. Performs assigned reconciliations by analyzing and reviewing subsidiary accounting systems, serviced assets and subsidiary equity positions to ensure accuracy of financial statements. Serves as a developmental specialist in reporting on key financial program areas and financial transactions from financial institution failures. Provides explanations of budget variances by expense category to lead the finalization of required statistical management reports. Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious/spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. To qualify, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the 07 grade level or above in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as experience in reviewing, analyzing and coordinating the completion of accounting work, including documenting procedures in the support of accounting. OR you may qualify based on education if you have a master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related Major study -- finance, business administration, economics, accounting, insurance, engineering, mathematics, banking and credit, law, real estate operations, statistics, or other fields related to the position, such as agriculture, agricultural economics, farm, livestock or ranch management, or rural sociology. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
