Job Summary
Supports the Sales Engineers (SEs) and Stormwater Consultants (SWC) in the field as well as the Regional Director (RD) for an assigned region. Provides technical knowledge and expertise with complex issues and projects. Leads risk management for region. Internal contacts:
Regional Sales personnel, plant personnel, and Headquarters & Business Segment personnel. External contacts:
Contractors, customers, government agencies, consulting engineers and professional organizations.
Primary Responsibilities
- Develops and executes comprehensive and ongoing training programs for new and experienced sales staff.
- Observes the performance of the SEs and counsels and advises regarding the effectiveness of their sales approach.
- Offers suggestions and guidance for improvements.
- Leads region risk management, including correct application of Contech products, compliance with corporate policies and management of high-risk projects.
- Assists the RD in business planning development and execution for the Region. Evaluates areas of growth and decline, competitive conditions, market and sales trends, product innovations, changing customer requirements, and any other developments that may impact sales.
- Assists sales engineers in promotional efforts with consultants, government authorities, contractors, and owners.
- Provides technical expertise, guidance, and promotional programs required to effectively introduce new products or product applications into the Region.
- Assists sales engineers with bid strategies, pricing, competition, customer relations and closing large orders.
- Provides guidance and direction to the Region s sales staff (SE, SWC, ISC, etc.) regarding the most complicated technical matters and complex orders and/or orders with key customers.
- Supports the Regional sales organization by maintaining a thorough knowledge and technical file of all Contech and competitive products, including their physical characteristics, production facilities, capabilities, and limitations, process methods, product applications, pricing, and quality standards.
- Oversees and directs efforts on projects with high liability exposure. Provides support to Region sales for service needs and investigates product failures and/or claims by customers and makes recommendations.

Minimum Education
4 year / Bachelor s Degree
Civil or Related Engineering Degree
- Combination of post-secondary education and experience will be considered in lieu of degree.
Licensure/Certifications
Preferred:
EIT or PE
Qualifications
Required:
- Engineering degree or equivalent expertise gained through extensive experience and knowledge of CONTECH Sales and Marketing functions.
- At least 5 years of applicable experience with broad knowledge of civil engineering principals and applications and an extensive knowledge of the construction industry, CONTECH products and applications.
- Thorough business knowledge in Marketing and Sales.
- High level managerial, leadership, negotiating and communications skills. Ability to accomplish results through others.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel as well as CRM database.
Preferred:
- At least 5 years of internal Contech sales and engineering experience.
