Staff Attorney HQ Legal
Manages certain aspects of the Company's contracts program by performing the following duties personally.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES o Reviews certain builder, subcontractor, and vendor contracts initiated with the Company.
o Develops or approves addendums to contracts.
o Revises contracts and distributes final versions to location management.
o Keeps Associate General Counsel informed of the status of the contracts program on a regular basis.
o Maintains contract log.
o Fulfills other company-related legal functions, as needed.
o Other duties may be assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
o Juris Doctorate (J.
D.
) or equivalent.
o Experience with contract management preferred, but not required.
COMPETENCIES o Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents.
o Ability to respond effectively to inquiries or complaints.
o Ability to write using original or innovative techniques or style.
o Ability to make effective and persuasive presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management or industry groups.
o Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
o To perform this job successfully, an individual should have basic skills with Word Processing and Internet software.
o Must be able to travel 10% of the time.
