Professional Highlights:

Texas Child Protective Service Child Development Center Director September 2012 to February 2013

Daily assured the safety and professional care for the children/parents/staff of the facility. Planned and scheduled staff breaks (lunch/morning or afternoon breaks). Planned, provided and scheduled required State Training for staff. Monitored each classroom for evidence of inappropriate behavior whether from staff or students. Prepared lunch/evening snacks and served according to State and Center Policies. Received childcare fees, receipted, reported and submitted fees to subordinate for deposits. Created weekly activities according to themes, classroom curriculum, classroom decorations, office and hallway decorations. Cleaned, ordered daily menus, properly placed groceries and chemicals labeled in specified area. Made sure the facility was secured at the end of the day and classrooms cleaned and positioned for the next day, trashed emptied, and restrooms cleaned before leaving at the end of the day. Weekly attendance submitted to CCMS according to guidelines. Issued proper paperwork to new comers and orientation of new students and trained new employees according to the requirement of the State of Texas Child Protective Services.

Dallas Area Agency on Aging/Community Council of Greater Dallas

February 2013 to present Outreach Coordinator

Recruit and train qualified lay-leaders for Self-Management Diabetes Programs-Workshop and Training. Recruit eligible students who meet the Stanford University criteria. Create fliers, letters to community programs, housings, recreational centers, churches who may provide sites for necessary training. Compile and UPS necessary paperwork to the TMF with respect to the HIPPA law. Obtain necessary doctor orders and clinical measures for registered individuals in the training as requested via the self-management diabetes program. Follow-up with leads, represent via Health Fairs, make presentations prior to registration, obtain a registration sheet for interested participants and follow-up with assigned sites for trainings.




Dallas Park and Recreation Community Program Supervisor/Coordinator

September 1995 through May 2011(retired)

Supervised and directed the daily operations of the facility including staff, reservations, volunteers, building maintenance to ensure a positive, safe and productive atmosphere for staff and the citizens. Coordinated summer and seasonal camps with increase in personnel to ensure safety and successful implementation. Applied principles of recreation, management and supervisory principles, promoted the membership card for all ages and receipted revenue with picture I. D. Assisted in developing and managed at least required budget yearly for activities, sports-leagues, tournaments, training camps and supplies. Developed seasonal brochures, tri-folds, fliers and created public service announcements. Created letters for donors to support the center whether in-kind, scholarships, or tangible items for programs and age categories. Attended various trainings to stay abreast of programs and increase skills to offer the citizens quality programs. Some Classes included, but not limited to: Class Program, Computer Classes, Texas Fitness Program, Girl Scouts, Philantrophist Tranining, Humana, Senior Identify Theft and Safety. Documented and made weekly deposits to designated bank and submitted reports and other required documents to the main office/City Hall.

Dallas Park and Recreation November 1995 -April 1996

Interim Community Center Manager

Oversea the complete operation of the recreation center with (2) full-time staff members, (1) part-time, (2) AARP staff, advisory council members, the operation of the Y2K Afterschool program, contract fee instructors, adult and teen volunteers. Prepared the agenda for the recreation center Advisory's Council monthly meeting. Made sure all incoming revenue were dropped with proper receipt to accompany, secure the deposit forms with the weekly deposit to be taken to the bank and submitted the proper report to the main office. Provided mandatory weekly staff meetings and attended weekly required manager's staff meeting at the District's office. I made contact with local and community businesses to create a cohesive relationship with the recreation center and recruited advisory council members to be a voice for the center. Ordered necessary supplies, scheduled buses and transportation needed for programs. Submitted necessary documents as requested and attended various trainings and served on various committees to enhance services and support.

Attended local school meeting as a liaison representative for the Park and Recreation Department, attended various schools for Career Day as a Public Speaker again representing the Park and Recreation Department. Act as a volunteer with numerous schools as partners during special events with the schools and advertise activities as well as recruit students as participants and volunteers with the Park and Recreation Centers.

Shreveport Park and Recreation Recreation Center Manger September 1992-June 1995

Applied principlies of recreation, management and supervisory principles. Implemented the operation of the center within the desired budget designated. Negotiated and managed up to 5 full/part-time staff members, seasonal staff, and community volunteers. Planned and implemented staff training with additional resources. Also, implemented monthly program activities for youth, teens, adults, seniors and special events and annual sport tournaments for the community. Responsible for the safety of the patrons and the staff. Reserved the facility for parties, community meetings, indoor/outdoor festivities. Created fliers, organized, formulated and executed policies and procedures. Adjusted to changing conditions and maintained harmony among staff and other workers. Receipted all incoming revenue and deposits to main office.
