I’m a semi-retired professional that’s worked for a professional moving company, where I performed both packing and moving services. Plus, I’ve packed my own belongings for a dozen moves of my own residence, both locally and across the country. My packing skills are top notch, and unlike the packing services of almost every other moving company, I DO NOT mark-up the price of any packing materials, nor do I base my pricing on a specified rate for each box/carton packed (which is the methodology most companies use, and the one that unnecessarily inflates the total cost of your move). I prefer an agreed upon hourly rate (well below the $45-$60 per hour per person rate that other companies charge), with a cap on the overall cost, and based on the scope of services specific to your move. This avoids unexpected, last-minute increases to your total moving budget. I’m trustworthy and respectful, paying close attention to how your belongings are handled and best protected while packed.
